(continued from Ini Maint CRM)
Tourplan has System Securities which allow flexibility and adaptability depending on user company requirements.
The Security System is designed to allow or deny access to the various Tourplan applications—Database, Accounting, Fastbook etc.—and if access is allowed, restrictions can be placed on the actions of the user inside the application. For example, an accounts user could have access to the Fastbook application and have rights to add notes to the services, but no rights to alter any pricing.
The Security System is made up of 3 different levels of security:
Each individual user is assigned an overall security level for the system. The Security level ranges from 0 to 99. Level 99 is the highest security level and will have access to all areas within the system. Graduations of security levels will help control access to areas for the different grades of User.
Each User is assigned to a Group. Through the Group setting, the User is linked to the Application and Process/Node within the application, rather than setting each User’s access to each particular program individually. It is possible with the Groups to split the Company into different Work sections. These Groups are then assigned to particular applications.
The selection layout for the Application Security is based on a Tree Menu Selection. The further down the Tree selection, the more process nodes appear for security settings. The Tree menus are based on the same tree menus in the actual applications. Security levels here can be as simple or as complex as is required. Each Node of the Tree allows for a security level to be set
It is possible to define Security settings for each Application (program) that is available in Tourplan, as well as the Processes that may occur within the Application. There are 4 possible actions assigned to each Process—INSERT, CHANGE, DELETE and ENQUIRE (If the item is greyed out the action is not available in that node of the application).
It is also possible within the Application Security levels to assign a password against an action at a particular level. This gives the ability to allow some Users with a lower security level to access an application or process IF they know the password.

It is not necessary for full Security levels to be set up for Tourplan to run. If full Security levels are to be set up, clear planning beforehand will help make the process less complicated. |
The Security levels application is accessed from the main Tourplan menu> System> Security Definitions.
